Friends of the Fair Garden & Park Pavers

At the 2013 Lenawee County Fair, engraved pavers graced the garden setting. This year’s goal of a brick walkway and placing engraved pavers is now a reality. It has become a beautiful addition to the fairgrounds and speaks to many different engraved sentiments subject to the purchaser’s choice.

Anyone can become a permanent part of the Lenawee County Fairgrounds by supporting the “Friends of the Fair” Garden and Park. When long time Fair Board member and friend, Gordon “Doc” Fish passed away in 2011, his family designated the Lenawee County Fair as one of their memorial choices. With that in mind, the Fair Board has put into place this development of a “Friends of the Fair” Garden and Park on the fairgrounds just west of the Dairy Barn. Now this development is well under way.

The first phase of this project, completed for the 2012 fair, included landscaping, new planting and fencing. The next two phases, some completed for the 2013 fair and the others to be completed by the 175th year of the fair (2014), include the central paver area with engraved pavers and a brick walkway, additional landscaping, plants and park improvements. You can purchase a piece of the fair in this beautiful setting by ordering your engraved paver for the park today! These pavers may be in memory of, in honor of, in fair friendship of, or any other engraving you prefer. Pavers are available in two sizes, 4 x 8 @a cost of $35 each or two for $50; or 8 x 8 @a cost of $50. Contact the fair office at 517-263-3007 for more information. There will be a deadline for paver orders in the spring of 2013 for them to be in place at the 2014 Fair.
